{"id":318502,"date":"2026-08-11T09:53:31","date_gmt":"2026-08-11T09:53:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/318502\/"},"modified":"2026-08-11T09:53:31","modified_gmt":"2026-08-11T09:53:31","slug":"truck-fire-shuts-down-lanes-on-brooklyn-queens-expressway-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/318502\/","title":{"rendered":"Truck Fire Shuts Down Lanes On Brooklyn-Queens Expressway"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>BROOKLYN, NY\u2014 A truck caught fire Monday afternoon on the eastbound Brooklyn-Queens Expressway near Flushing Avenue, blocking all eastbound lanes and gridlocking traffic through the area.<\/p>\n<p>The call came in at 4:28 p.m., according to the fire department. <\/p>\n<p class=\"article-subscribe\">\n  <a class=\"article-subscribe-link\" href=\"https:\/\/patch.com\/new-york\/brooklyn\/subscribe?utm_source=amp&amp;utm_campaign=subscribe&amp;utm_medium=mobile&amp;utm_term=subscribe_in_article\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Subscribe<\/a>\n<\/p>\n<p>Two engine companies and two ladder companies responded and extinguished the blaze.<\/p>\n<p>No injuries were reported.<\/p>\n<p>The New York City Police Department posted at 5:27 p.m. that &#8220;all lanes are blocked eastbound on the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway past Flushing Avenue&#8221; because of the vehicle fire.<\/p>\n<p>Firefighters remained at the scene for more than an hour after the initial call.
