Queens Of The Stone Age<\/a>\u2018s Josh Homme<\/a> defied a $10k smoking fine during a recent show\u00a0at Detroit\u2019s Ford Field.<\/p>\n

The band are currently opening for the Foo Fighters<\/a> on their North American satdium tour and during their set on August 6, the QOTSA frontman complained about the venue\u2019s no-smoking policy<\/a>. He claimed that the band could be fined $10,000 (\u00a37,410) for smoking backstage, with Detroit\u2019s Metro Times<\/a>\u00a0further reporting Homme\u2019s frustration at being unable to find anywhere to smoke.<\/p>\n

However, as QOTSA closed their set with \u2018Song For The Dead\u2019, Homme decided to go against the stadium\u2019s rules. He told the crowd in an impassioned speech: \u201cDon\u2019t let these fuckin\u2019 corporate assholes tell you what to do, do whatever the fuck you want. Fuck that shit. You paid for parking, and you\u2019re paying for overpriced drinks, these fucking scalpers. Fuck having some corporation tell you what the fuck to do, you guys do what you want!\u201d<\/p>\n

He went on to add: \u201cAnd fuck Flock cameras too\u201d.<\/p>\n

Following his address, Homme lit a cigarette. It is unknown whether he was hit with the $10k fine.<\/p>\n

Foo Fighters had just kicked off their \u2018Take Cover\u2019 tour<\/a> with QOTSA in Toronto on the August 4.<\/p>\n

It was QOTSA\u2019s first outing in North America since\u00a0their orchestral \u2018Catacombs\u2019 tour in April and May<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Homme and co. played an 11-track hits-packed show including the likes of \u2018In My Head\u2019, \u2018I Sat By The Ocean\u2019, \u2018Go With The Flow\u2019 and \u2018No One Knows\u2019.<\/p>\n

Prior to the tour, Foos frontman Dave Grohl explained why he was taking QOTSA on tour with them<\/a>, explaining that it was to honour their \u201clifelong bond\u201d. \u201cWhat better way to share the view than with close friends. In 1992 I first saw the legendary Kyuss perform at the Off Ramp in Seattle and met Mr. Josh Homme. The band were friends of a friend, and before long their album \u2018Blues for the Red Sun\u2019 became the soundtrack to that summer. 33 years later and with many miles behind us, I have shared some of my life\u2019s most rewarding musical moments with my dear friend, Josh,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
