Rockefeller Tree Arrival<\/p>\n

The Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree will arrive in the city from East Greenbush, New York on Saturday.<\/p>\n

The Norway spruce is expected to arrive sometime in the morning before being installed, wrapped in more than 50,000 multicolored lights and\u00a0crowned with a Swarovski star.<\/p>\n

Golf at Yankee Stadium<\/p>\n

For the first time ever, Yankee Stadium is becoming a driving range and allowing people to golf on its greens.<\/p>\n

Upper Deck Golf has tee times available to book<\/a> throughout the day Saturday, and there will be multiple golfing challenges. Food and beer will also be available.<\/p>\n

‘Canstruction’<\/p>\n

“Canstruction” \u2014 a design competition for engineers and architects \u2014 is now on display at Brookfield Place in Battery Park City.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The 23 sculptures made of canned goods<\/a> that make up this year’s event include a pizza rat, a fire station and a memorial to the MetroCard.<\/p>\n

New York Comedy Festival<\/p>\n

The New York Comedy Festival has returned to the city, and more than 200 comedians are performing in more than 100 shows across the five boroughs.<\/p>\n

Margaret Cho and Stephen Colbert are among the names that have events, along with podcasts like “The Basement Yard” and “How Did This Get Made?”<\/p>\n

The Great Borough Bake-Off<\/p>\n

Professional and amateur bakers alike have created gingerbread versions of city sights like\u00a0brownstones, bridges, bodegas and ballparks.<\/p>\n

The competition includes bakers from all five boroughs, with each asked to make something that represents their community. Multiple prizes will be awarded by a panel of judges, and attendees can vote on a “People’s Choice” award of their own.<\/p>\n

An exhibit at the Museum of the City of New York, “Urban Stomp: Dreams & Defiance on the Dance Floor,”\u00a0guides visitors through a rich history of social dances born, shaped or popularized in the city.<\/p>\n

There are around 30 video tutorials teaching the steps of dance styles like the foxtrot, Lindy Hop, salsa, hip-hop, breaking, hustle and vogue, with related cultural artifacts on display.<\/p>\n

‘Encounters in the Milky Way’<\/p>\n

“Encounters in the Milky Way” is a new show at the Hayden Planetarium that gives visitors a “front-row seat to spectacular moments in our solar system’s past and future.”<\/p>\n

Narrated by Pedro Pascal, the show takes viewers through the paths of stars, comets and other interstellar debris. It’s part of the Rose Center for Earth and Space’s celebration of 25 years since its opening.<\/p>\n
