August 16, 2026<\/a>Man Shows Off 90-Square-Foot New York City Apartment<\/p>\nOne might wonder what would drive a person to rent a 90-square-foot apartment in New York City aside from simply wanting to be in the city, and this man has a reason. He\u2019s an aspiring musical theater writer, and he wants to be in the heart of the theater district. And he is, although his living quarters are a little cramped.<\/p>\n
In his video, which is making the rounds online, he gives a brief tour because it doesn\u2019t take very long to survey the apartment. His 90 square feet is just enough to hold a bunk bed setup, minus the bed underneath. He uses that space for a small couch and a shelf with cubbies, which acts as his storage.<\/p>\n
Across from that is his \u201ckitchen,\u201d which comes with a one-burner induction cooktop, a mini sink, and one cabinet. He also added an LED strip light to \u201cget a little mood lighting going on.\u201d<\/p>\n
There\u2019s another little space for a place to hang a few clothes and an air conditioner \u201cthat comes with a remote control.\u201d What\u2019s missing from the room, however, is a bathroom. He says every floor has three bathrooms, and all the apartments on that floor share them.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is it, gang,\u201d he tells viewers, and then explains why he\u2019s living in the space. Since he\u2019s an aspiring musical theater writer, he wants to be at the center of the industry while he studies and pursues his dream career. But the arrangement also means being away from his family.<\/p>\n
He says his family, a wife and two kids, live in the same time zone but are a short flight away because they all couldn\u2019t afford to come and live in New York City. \u201cWe couldn\u2019t afford to find a place to fit our family of four. So this is a sacrifice that our whole family is making,\u201d he explains.<\/p>\n
But he assures viewers that his wife is supportive of him and has agreed to the living situation.<\/p>\n
