Locals Josh Cohen and David Schmitt are working with the New York City Parks Department on a 25-year license agreement for the project, with the goal to increase waterfront access in Greenpoint.<\/p>\n<p>Some residents worry the project would have a <a href=\"https:\/\/gothamist.com\/news\/plan-to-add-marina-in-greenpoint-flames-tensions-in-rapidly-changing-neighborhood\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">negative effect<\/a> on the quiet and non-commercial 6-acre park, according to Gothamist.
