{"id":32536,"date":"2025-11-07T23:01:11","date_gmt":"2025-11-07T23:01:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/32536\/"},"modified":"2025-11-07T23:01:11","modified_gmt":"2025-11-07T23:01:11","slug":"girl-12-raped-in-brooklyn-by-stranger-police-say","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/32536\/","title":{"rendered":"Girl, 12, Raped In Brooklyn By Stranger, Police Say"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>EAST WILLIAMSBURG, NY \u2014 A 12-year-old girl was raped by a stranger in the stairwell of an apartment building in East Williamsburg on Thursday afternoon, and police are still searching for the suspect, New York City Police Department officials said Friday. <\/p>\n<p>According to the NYPD, the girl was entering her apartment building near Morgan Avenue and Skillman Avenue, which is part of NYCHA&#8217;s Cooper Park Houses on Thursday at 5:45 p.m. when the man approached her, grabbed her, and proceeded to rape her. <\/p>\n<p>Then, the man ran away in an unknown direction, police said. <\/p>\n<p>Police and medics responded and took the girl to a local hospital in stable condition, officials said. <\/p>\n<p>Police are investigating the situation and have not made any arrests yet. Police have released surveillance photos of the suspect. <\/p>\n<p>Police said anyone with information regarding the rape can call the NYPD&#8217;s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
