Queen Camilla broke her silence on King Charles\u2019 cancer diagnosis<\/a> in a candid conversation.<\/p>\n

She recalled visiting a Maggie\u2019s cancer treatment center just one week before her husband\u2019s diagnosis was announced to the public and how not being able to say anything was \u201cquite difficult.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI almost said something, but you know, felt that it wasn\u2019t the time to say,\u201d Camilla told Dame Laura Lee, chief executive of UK cancer charity Maggie\u2019s, in a discussion shared via Instagram <\/a>Wednesday.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was just longing to let it out, but obviously I couldn\u2019t.\u201d<\/p>\n

Queen Camilla broke her silence on King Charles\u2019 cancer diagnosis and recalled her \u201cquite difficult\u201d visit to a cancer treatment center just one week before the diagnosis went public. The Royal Family, and Maggie’s\/Youtube<\/p>\n

Camilla said that because she couldn\u2019t divulge the tough news at the time, she was \u201calmost questioning\u201d the patients at the center to find out more about cancer.<\/p>\n

\u201cI didn\u2019t want to pry too deeply,\u201d she explained. \u201cBut you know, normally when I went in, I was just talking to them. But I don\u2019t know, I felt it was much more deep.\u201d<\/p>\n

Camilla also recalled looking at all the patients at the center \u201cwho were suffering,\u201d and it made her \u201crealize even more how important\u201d cancer research and treatment is.<\/p>\n

As Page Six previously reported, Buckingham Palace confirmed that Charles was being\u00a0treated for benign prostate enlargement<\/a>\u00a0in January 2024.<\/p>\n

Officials clarified that Charles was not diagnosed with prostate cancer; however, it was during that treatment that his cancer was detected.<\/p>\n

Charles disclosed his diagnosis the following month.<\/p>\n

\u201cDuring The King\u2019s\u00a0recent hospital procedure for benign prostate enlargement, a separate issue of concern was noted. Subsequent diagnostic tests have identified a form of cancer,\u201d Buckingham Palace\u00a0announced in an official statement\u00a0shared at the time.<\/p>\n

\u201cHis Majesty has today commenced a schedule of regular treatments, during which time he has been advised by doctors to postpone public-facing duties. Throughout this period, His Majesty will continue to undertake State business and official paperwork as usual.\u201d<\/p>\n

It concluded, \u201cHis Majesty has chosen to share his diagnosis to prevent speculation and in the hope it may assist public understanding for all those around the world who are affected by cancer.\u201d<\/p>\n

The details surrounding the monarch\u2019s type of cancer and form of treatment have remained private.<\/p>\n

In July 2025, Charles said his health improved significantly<\/a> during a candid conversation with a cancer survivor.<\/p>\n

\u201cToday, I am able to share with you the good news that, thanks to early diagnosis, effective intervention and adherence to doctors\u2019 orders, my own schedule of cancer treatment can be reduced in the new year,\u201d Charles revealed in a pre-recorded TV message as part of Channel 4\u2019s \u201cStand Up to Cancer\u201d night.<\/p>\n

Though Charles\u2019 cancer is not technically considered \u201cin remission,\u201d Buckingham Palace said in a press release that he has \u201cresponded exceptionally well to treatment,\u201d prompting his recovery to reach a very positive stage.
