NEW YORK (PIX11) — The New York City Department of Health has announced the next round of spraying to curb the mosquito population and prevent the spread of the West Nile virus.<\/p>\n
While pools of mosquitoes have tested positive for West Nile citywide over the last few weeks, there has only been one confirmed human case<\/a> this year, according to the health department.<\/p>\n \u00a0Discover more local reporting on our homepage\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n The next round of spraying will happen in the Bronx and Queens.<\/p>\n Spraying in Queens will take place between 8:30 p.m. on Monday and 6 a.m. on Tuesday. Spraying in the Bronx will happen between 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday and 6 a.m. on Thursday.<\/p>\n Spraying will be conducted in the following zip codes:<\/p>\n Bronx: 10464, 10475, 10469, 10462, 10461, 10473, 10465<\/p>\n Queens: 11433, 11412, 11436, 11434, 11413, 11422<\/p>\n “Mosquito control starts with knowing where mosquito activity is increasing,” said\u00a0NYC Health Commissioner Dr. Alister F.
