Mason Fluharty<\/a> will get the start as the Toronto Blue Jays<\/a> look to open their final series of the season against the rival New York Yankees<\/a> with a win on Friday. <\/p>\n

It will mark a fourth start of the season for Fluharty, who has appeared in 64 games out of the bullpen. The 25-year-old lefty has a 5-1 record with a 3.71 ERA this season and a 1.24 WHIP over 51 innings. <\/p>\n

Fluharty did not allow a hit to the Yankees while pitching an inning and two thirds over two appearances as the Blue Jays picked a series win last weekend. <\/p>\n

The Blue Jays relievers enter the bullpen day well rested after only Spencer Miles<\/a> and Louis Varland<\/a> pitched Thursday in a 5-1 win over the Tamp Bay Rays to clinch a series win against the best team in the American League.<\/p>\n

With a 7-3 record over their past 10 games, the Blue Jays have surged to sit just a half game back in the AL wild-card race entering Friday night.<\/p>\n
