Jessica Ramos looks to have double-billed for travel expenses \u2014 getting reimbursed for hotel bills and train tickets by both her campaign accounts and the state, which covers qualified work-related expenses for electeds.<\/p>\n<p>Bad Jessica! If she did it, let her face the full consequences of the law.<\/p>\n<p>But what about all the other pols indulging in a scheme that seems not just widespread in Albany but practically universal?<\/p>\n<p>Sure looks like a bid to make Ramos \u2014 a longtime <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/08\/18\/queens-dem-jessica-ramos-endorses-ny10-amiga-carlina-rivera\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Working Families Party stalwart<\/a>, now loathed by her fellow Democrats after <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/06\/06\/us-news\/ramos-who-compared-cuomo-to-biden-to-endorse-ex-gov-for-nyc-mayor\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">endorsing Andrew Cuomo<\/a> for mayor and defeated in her last primary as a result \u2014 the sacrificial goat for epidemic corruption.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\tMore From\t\t\t\t\t\t\tPost Editorial Board<\/p>\n<p>Albany\u2019s \u201cper diem\u201d system \u2014 paying legislators a fixed sum to cover their expenses for time in the capital on official business \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2015\/03\/07\/lawmakers-using-per-diem-payments-to-pay-off-their-homes\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">was abused for decades<\/a>, but <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2014\/06\/16\/rob-astorino-in-push-against-perks-per-diems-for-legislature\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">reforms<\/a> and a couple of hefty pay raises supposedly closed the biggest loopholes.<\/p>\n<p>Hah!
