New York Yankees’ Spencer Jones shared a piece of advice he received from Trent Grisham during Spring Training<\/p>\n

So I give him a lot of credit; he\u2019s a great defender, great player. He\u2019s able to pass it along to me, and it\u2019s helped a lot.\u201d<\/p>\n Spencer Jones said he got good advice from Trent Grisham on playing the corner outfield positions in Spring Training <\/p>\n Jones is in the midst of his rookie campaign with New York.<\/p>\n At the time of this writing, he is slashing .233\/.315\/.428 with a .743 OPS and seven homers through 57 games. Along the way, he has posted eight doubles, one triple and 22 RBIs.<\/p>\n Selected by the Yankees 25th overall in the first round of the 2022 MLB<\/a> draft, it was rather apparent early on that Jones has something worth developing.<\/p>\n He made his official debut in May 2026. Since making his first appearance, Jones has been an exciting young star for New York fans to watch.<\/p>\n As for Grisham, he has far more Major League experience \u2014 he is now in his eighth MLB season.<\/p>\n Of those eight years, three have been spent in New York. Before being traded to the Yankees, Grisham had spent four seasons with the San Diego Padres<\/a> and one year with the Milwaukee Brewers back in 2019.<\/p>\n With such experience and success stamped on his resume, any professional advice from him should be well-received.
