When they arrived, they found 33-year-old Jose Scott, who lived on Merrick Boulevard three doors down from the auto repair shop, with multiple stab wounds about his body.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Sources familiar with the investigation said that Scott suffered two stab wounds to his back, as well as a stab wound to his abdomen, and multiple other lacerations. The victim\u2019s mother found him lying on the sidewalk in front of their home and covered in blood, then called police for help.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-137865822\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/Screenshot-2026-08-24-at-8.34.14-AM.jpg\" alt=\"scene in queens where man was stabbed dead\" width=\"1200\" height=\"834\" title=\"Queens man stabbed to death steps away from home; mom finds him in pool of blood, sources say 2\"  \/>Police said the stabbing occurred in front of an auto repair shop at 220-20 Merrick Blvd. in Laurelton at about 9:45 p.m. on Aug. 23.Photo via Google Maps<\/p>\n<p>EMS rushed Scott to Jamaica Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.<\/p>\n<p>The motive and circumstances leading up to the deadly attack remained unknown as of Monday morning, police sources said.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n<p>So far, no arrests have been made in the ongoing investigation. All calls and messages are kept confidential.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nyc.gov\/assets\/nypd\/downloads\/pdf\/crime_statistics\/cs-en-us-116pct.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">116th Precinct has reported three homicides<\/a> year-to-date through Aug. 16.
