BAYCHESTER, Bronx (WABC) — Four people were shot and one person was killed after an apparent car meetup early Sunday in the Baychester section of the Bronx.<\/p>\n
The gunfire broke out during the street takeover at East 233rd Street and Boston Road at 5:40 a.m.<\/p>\n
Police believe multiple people opened fire and dozens of shots, as many as 60, were fired at the scene.<\/p>\n
An 18-year-old man, later identified as Werling Mendez, was shot in the head and died.<\/p>\n
Additionally, a 20-year-old woman was shot int he foot and a 22-year-old man was shot in the chest.<\/p>\n
Both victims were taken to the hospital where they were said to be stable.<\/p>\n
Police were later informed that a 25-year-old woman was shot in the left foot and was taken to BronxCare Health System.<\/p>\n
She was bringing slushies to a nearby business when she was shot. Her wallet and gold chain were stolen.<\/p>\n
Additionally, a 37-year-old woman was robbed at gunpoint by three men who put a gun to her head and stole her phone and chain.<\/p>\n
The suspects got away in an Acura, police said.<\/p>\n
No arrests were immediately made.<\/p>\n
