Great news\u00a0Falsettos<\/a>\u00a0fans! The 10th anniversary\u00a0Falsettos\u00a0reunion concert, which quickly sold out when it was put on sale in July, has added a second night. The special event will now run October 18\u00a0and\u00a0November 2 at Carnegie Hall. Tickets for the November 2 performance will go on sale August 26.<\/p>\n

The concert will reunite the Broadway cast of the 2016 revival of the\u00a0William Finn<\/a>\u2013James Lapine<\/a> musical. The cast includes\u00a0Tony winners Stephanie J. Block<\/a>, Christian Borle<\/a>, and Brandon Uranowitz<\/a>; Tracie Thoms<\/a>; Betsy Wolfe<\/a>; and Andrew Rannells<\/a>. The evening will also feature a special guest appearance from Anthony Rosenthal<\/a>, who played the pre-teen character\u00a0Jason in that 2016 production.<\/p>\n

The production will be directed by Tony-nominated choreographer\u00a0Ellenore Scott<\/a> (Ragtime<\/a>)\u2014who served as assistant choreographer on the 2016 Falsettos. Additionally, Cory Pattak<\/a> will be the event’s\u00a0lighting designer. As previously announced, Vadim Feichtner<\/a> will again music direct and conduct, leading a band made up of most of the production’s original players.<\/p>\n

The one-night-only performance will be given in support of The BroadwayEveryDay Foundation and Family Equality. <\/p>\n

To return to it all now as director ten years later, surrounded by so many of the artists who made that production special, feels like the most beautiful full-circle moment. There is so much love woven into William Finn\u2019s gorgeous show, and getting to bring this tight knit family back together at Carnegie Hall is truly an honor of a lifetime.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cI am thrilled to have the chance to revisit this extraordinary show with this incredible cast,\u201d said Rannells in a previous statement. \u201cBeing part of the 2016 revival remains one of the proudest moments of my career, and bringing it to the stage of Carnegie Hall feels both surreal and deeply meaningful. It’s a tremendous honor and a beautiful tribute to Bill and James’ extraordinary work.\u201d<\/p>\n

This one-night-only concert is a chance for those fans to experience what can’t quite be captured on a screen: the electricity of this cast back together, the immediacy of live theatre, and the heart and humanity that make Falsettos so unforgettable,\u201d said Block.<\/p>\n

The revival, which opened in 2016 at the Walter Kerr Theatre via Lincoln Center Theater<\/a>, was the second time Falsettos played Broadway, following its 1992 original production. Originally produced Off-Broadway as two separate one-act musicals, the work follows the unconventional family that arises after Marvin tells his wife, Trina, that he’s gay. Featuring songs by the late Finn and a book by Lapine (who also directed both of the show’s Broadway bows), the musical was a landmark moment in theatre history, created at the height of the AIDS crisis and becoming one of the first major mainstream depictions of queer life and family units. The 2016 revival was filmed live on stage and later shown on PBS, and was nominated for five 2017 Tony Awards, including Best Revival of a Musical.<\/p>\n
