Watching world-class tennis in Queens usually comes with a world-class price tag. But a new batch of discounted US Open tickets will give New Yorkers a chance to get inside Arthur Ashe Stadium for $100.

Mayor Zohran Mamdani and the United States Tennis Association have announced that 1,000 tickets will go on sale exclusively to New York City residents beginning Wednesday, August 26, at 10 am. The tickets will be available on a first-come, first-served basis at usopen.org/NYCtickets and each resident can purchase up to two.

The offer covers Main Draw matches taking place from Sunday, August 30, through Tuesday, September 8. Each ticket includes a seat inside Arthur Ashe Stadium and access to Louis Armstrong Stadium, plus a grounds pass—meaning buyers can roam the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center and catch matches across several courts.

All of the tickets ordinarily have a face value of at least $100, according to the announcement, with some worth considerably more. And considering resale prices for this year’s tournament have climbed above $300, the deal could save tennis fans a sizable chunk of change. The only real test may be whether your clicking speed is ready for the Main Draw.

“If the world’s best tennis players are coming to our city, New Yorkers should be able to see them play,” Mamdani said in a statement. He framed the ticket release as part of his administration’s broader effort to make major sporting events more affordable for city residents.

That effort has also included securing 1,000 lower-priced tickets to 2026 FIFA World Cup matches, making the tournament’s five-borough FanFests free and distributing tickets to Gotham FC games and the USA Track & Field Outdoor and Para National Championships.

USTA CEO Craig Tiley said the discounted offer expands the tournament’s existing efforts to draw more local fans. “We want as many people as possible to experience tennis and the US Open and this additional Main Draw ticket access for New Yorkers only strengthens that commitment,” he said.

The Open already offers eight days of free grounds admission during Fan Week, when visitors can watch player practices, qualifying matches and mixed doubles competition. But this latest release provides something rather harder to come by: an affordable seat for the tournament itself.

Watching world-class tennis in Queens usually comes with a world-class price tag.
