Photo courtesy Po Boy Riche.<\/p>\n<p>The evolving Bergen-Lafayette neighborhood has welcomed a new restaurant straight from the Bayou as Po Boy Riche has added a new entry to Jersey City\u2019s diverse dining scene.<\/p>\n<p>Situated at 89 Monitor Street on the ground floor of <a href=\"https:\/\/jerseydigs.com\/99-monitor-street-jersey-city-approved\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The Hazel<\/a>, the newest restaurant is the brainchild of Israel Jiles. His experience includes\u00a0serving as a former partner at Montclair Hospitality Group, which owns the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/jerseydigs.com\/at-long-last-ani-ramen-house-opens-in-jersey-city-april-24th\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Ani Ramen<\/a> brand and other ventures.<\/p>\n<p>Jiles also previously served as the manager of the trendy Catch NYC restaurant, and his casual yet cozy space in Bergen-Lafayette has won some early raves since its soft opening. The restaurant is a counter-service affair with several seating areas, and its specialty is (perhaps unsurprisingly) the New Orleans favorite, po\u2019 boys.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-92619\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/po-boy-riche-food-1024x768.jpeg\" alt=\"Po Boy Riche Food\" width=\"696\" height=\"522\"  \/>Photo courtesy Po Boy Riche.<\/p>\n<p>Shrimp, catfish, oyster, roast beef, chicken, and mushroom varieties of the Bayou specialty are all accounted for at Po Boy Riche, as is a muffaletta option. Other menu items include catfish nuggets and a Creole salad with baby lettuce, hers, mushrooms, and a mustard vinaigrette.<\/p>\n<p>Other entrees at the restaurant besides po\u2019 boys include shrimp and grits and jambalaya.
