The Valkyries head to New York for the second night of a back-to-back against the Liberty on Thursday. Thursday\u2019s game completes the Valkyries\u2019 first back-to-back set of the season. They will have one more back-to-back after the FIBA World Cup break, hosting the Portland Fire on Sept. 18 and the Seattle Storm on Sept. 19.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The Liberty are loaded with star power, headlined by eight-time All-Star Breanna Stewart, six-time All-Star Jonquel Jones and four-time All-Star Sabrina Ionescu. Jones was the MVP of the 2026 All-Star Game and was the Finals MVP when the Liberty won the championship in 2024.
