New York\u00a0grandmother Alisa Goods\u2019 body was found<\/a>\u00a0in an embankment near a Las Vegas airport by a homeless man, who notified parking attendants about the grim discovery, according to Metro Police.<\/p>\n

Surveillance footage showed\u00a0<\/a>Goods, 63, \u201cfalling down an embankment, getting back up and then collapsing on Aug. 8,\u201d the same day she disappeared after leaving a longtime friend\u2019s apartment to run an errand.<\/p>\n

Goods, 63, was found dead near Terminal 1 at Harry Reid International Airport. KTNV<\/p>\n

The mother of five\u2019s body, which cops said was not visible from the street,\u00a0remained in the drainage ditch\u00a0<\/a>area near Wayne Newton Boulevard and the Harry Reid International Airport Terminal 1 parking garage for 12 days until the homeless man spotted her.<\/p>\n

Authorities have not yet released Goods\u2019 cause of death.<\/p>\n

Her family revealed that Goods had recently undergone several surgical procedures on her legs that made getting around difficult for the grandmother.<\/p>\n

The Upper East Side resident was visiting her friend of 20 years, Roger\u00a0John, in Sin City and left his pad near the Las Vegas Strip to go shopping at CVS before she vanished.<\/p>\n

Goods\u2019 family said it was \u201cnot like her\u201d to go missing and grew increasingly concerned after her disconnected cell phone started sending messages to family members.<\/p>\n

In some of the messages, the person on the other end of the phone asked for money, and even Bitcoin.<\/p>\n

Her grief-stricken family took part in the frantic search, including one of her daughters, Kristen, who flew into town from New Jersey hoping to find her mother.<\/p>\n

She told local media family members were checking hospitals and even morgues as the search grew increasingly desperate.<\/p>\n

After her body was found, Goods\u2019 niece, Alana Calloway, made a statement on behalf of the family.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur hearts are broken. We were notified that my aunt was found \u2014 unfortunately, not the way we wanted her to be,\u201d she said in a statement.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is an unimaginable time. Words cannot describe the pain our family is experiencing right now.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe just want to thank the public for the outpouring of love, support, and prayers. We also want to thank the media for helping bring attention to this situation. This hurts so deeply. We are still trying to learn the details surrounding her death.
