Photo by Gus Saltonstall.<\/p>\n<p>By Gus Saltonstall<\/p>\n<p>The New York State Democratic Party has opened a base of operations on the Upper West Side for the upcoming General Election this November.<\/p>\n<p>The field office opened last week at 2740 Broadway, between West 105th and 106th streets, in the former home of the popular Silver Moon Bakery, which has a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.silvermoonbakery.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">new storefront a few blocks away.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>While the office was locked and empty when West Side Rag visited Friday morning, most of the signage inside and outside the store was for Gov. Kathy Hochul\u2019s re-election campaign, which is running with former New York City Council Speaker Adrienne Adams as Lieutenant Governor.<\/p>\n<p>Hochul is facing off against Republican Bruce Blakeman, who currently serves as Nassau County Executive.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.westsiderag.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/IMG_5559-1-scaled.jpeg\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-105264\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/IMG_5559-1-1024x768.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\"  \/><\/a>Signs for Gov. Photo by Gus Saltonstall.<\/p>\n<p>Other signs inside the field office included Assemblymember Micah Lasher, who is the Democratic nominee for the Congressional District 12 seat, and Eli Northrup, the Democratic candidate to succeed Lasher in his Assembly seat.<\/p>\n<p>Lasher is up against Republican nominee Caroline Shinkle and multiple independent candidates in NY-12 this November, while Northrup is currently the lone candidate on the ballot for his race in the General Election.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGreat to be at the new @nydems field office opening on the Upper West Side last night,\u201d Lasher wrote about the opening of the Upper West Side campaign office. \u201cIncredible energy \u2014 so many neighbors ready to do the work that wins elections.
