COURTHOUSE,
\n Aug 28 \u2013 Two men charged with
\n an armed carjacking in The
\n Bronx on July 15 were
\n arraigned on September 5
\n before U.S. District Court for
\n the Southern District of New
\n York Chief Magistrate Judge
\n Sarah Netburn. Inner City
\n Press was there, the only
\n media in the SDNY Mag
\n court.\u00a0 <\/p>\n

\u00a0 The
\n complaint is replete with
\n photographs, of one defendant
\n on a scooter, the shooting of
\n a gun, the bloody victim on
\n Beaumont Avenue in Belmont,
\n the duo back in the Mill Brook
\n Houses in the South
\n Bronx.\u00a0 <\/p>\n

\u00a0 Both
\n seemed upbeat on September 5,
\n one greeting two supporters in
\n the gallery, the other talking
\n with his Federal Defender.
\n Then they were taken back to
\n the MDC.\u00a0 <\/p>\n

On November 25,
\n 2025 Hatwood pled guilty.<\/p>\n

Jump cut to March
\n 4, 2026 when Fasasi pled
\n guilty to Count 2 and the
\n lesser included offense of
\n Count 3. Sentencing was set
\n for July 7 at 11 am.<\/p>\n

On March 28, for
\n Hatwood’s sentencing set for
\n April 14, his lawyer wrote in
\n and asked for a five year
\n sentence.<\/p>\n

The US Attorney’s
\n Office countered that 108
\n months\u00a0 – nine years –
\n are necessary.<\/p>\n

In fact, he was
\n sentenced to 102 months: six
\n less than the US requested.<\/p>\n

On July 23, the
\n sentencing of Fasasi was moved
\n from July 29 to August 26.<\/p>\n

The US Attorney’s
\n Office wrote in asking for 111
\n to 123 months.<\/p>\n

On August 26, he
\n got 111 months.<\/p>\n

Dated July 15 but
\n only docketed on August 28,
\n the Federal Defender had asked
\n for 84 months, seven years.
\n But why wasn’t it docketed
\n before the sentencing?<\/p>\n

\u00a0The case is
\n US v. Fasasi, et al.,
\n 1:25-cr-378 (Vyskocil \/
\n Netburn) <\/p>\n
