ABC7<\/p>\n<p>The fire is connected to a lithium-ion battery, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/ny1.com\/nyc\/brooklyn\/news\/2026\/08\/29\/nypd--teen-killed-in-fire-at-brooklyn-nycha-complex\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">NY1<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>An 18-year-old man was taken to One Brooklyn Health-Interfaith Medical Center with serious, life-threatening injuries, where he was later pronounced dead by hospital staff, according to police.<\/p>\n<p>The explosion at the Crown Heights complex sent debris and personal belongings outside the building.
