During Friday night\u2019s episode of Real Time With Bill Maher<\/a>, host Bill Maher<\/a> brought up New York City\u2019s newly elected mayor, Zohran Mamdani<\/a>, during a discussion with guests Bill O\u2019Reilly<\/a>\u00a0and Florida Congressman Jared Moskowitz.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe had somebody win in New York,\u201d Maher began in the midst of a conversation about the current state of the U.S. economy, \u201cI\u2019ve spoken against him. He was not my choice.\u201d <\/p>\n

Maher then discussed Mamdani\u2019s Democratic socialist stance and compared this to a quote from recently elected Virginia governor, Abigail Spanberger, where she warned other Democrats to avoid the words \u201csocialist\u201d and \u201csocialism\u201d altogether. With this seeming split in the party, Maher asked his guests how we can get America\u2019s economy back on track.<\/p>\n

\u201cLook, it\u2019s a supply and demand country,\u201d O\u2019Reilly responded. \u201cNow, Mamdani doesn\u2019t want that, okay, he\u2019s not a socialist, he\u2019s a communist.\u201d He went on to say, \u201cSo, it\u2019s supply and demand, and I\u2019m going on a jihad, to please Mamdani, of telling people don\u2019t buy anything that you feel is exploitative.\u201d<\/p>\n

While Maher agreed with O\u2019Reilly\u2019s point about the ineffectiveness of socialism, saying, \u201cWe\u2019ve tried it many, many times. It never works.\u201d <\/p>\n

Moskowitz then added his two cents, clarifying that while his own capitalist stance doesn\u2019t align with Mamdani\u2019s socialism, he could see why Decocrats would want to rally around him right now. \u201cOur wing of the party now is pissed\u2026 And this is the message to us that Republicans were sending with Donald Trump to their own establishment.\u201d<\/p>\n

Maher then closed out the Mamdani discussion with an invitation. \u201cI\u2019d like him to do this show,\u201d he declared. \u201cThis guy seems to say he has balls, let\u2019s see it.\u201d<\/p>\n
