A limited-time art exhibition is celebrating Charles M. Schulz\u2019s iconic character Snoopy and the world of \u201cPeanuts\u201d through the lens of fashion and style.<\/p>\n

Snoopy in Style NYC officially opened for the month in the Meatpacking District, offering a place where guests can explore the world of Schulz (also known as Sparky) and \u201cPeanuts\u201d as it relates to its cultural impact on the world. Curated by The Charles M. Schulz Museum and Research Center, the exhibition has ten immersive zones and features never-before-seen looks for Snoopy and Woodstock dolls and artifacts from Schulz\u2019s connection to New York City, tennis and Billie Jean King.<\/p>\n

One of the main pillars of the exhibition is \u201cPeanuts\u201d and its connection to style, starting from Charlie Brown\u2019s iconic zigzag shirt and showing how other characters\u2019 styles, such as Lucy and Sally, evolved over time. One zone has a number of Snoopy and Woodstock dolls dressed in custom-made outfits from brands such as adidas, Coach, BODE, Chinatown Market, Levi\u2019s\u00ae, Gloria Steinem, Madhappy, Michael Kors Collection, New York or Nowhere, and so many more.<\/p>\n

\u201cSparky understood that characters, like people, had a distinct sense of style,\u201d said Jean Schulz, the widow of Charles Schulz and president of the BOD at the museum. \u201cWhen you saw that style, you would understand something deeper about them. Sparky himself appreciated people\u2019s personal style.\u201d<\/p>\n

Snoopy In Style NYC has a lot to explore, including interactive photo opportunities and rare archival materials. The space also features Joe Cool\u2019s Listening Lounge, which celebrates one of Snoopy\u2019s iconic alter egos alongside the legacy of Vince Guaraldi\u2019s beloved jazz compositions.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The exhibition takes an inside look at Schulz\u2019s appreciation for tennis and how it influenced his personal life, the original comic strip and women\u2019s rights. It also explores his friendship with Billie Jean King and his advocacy for Title IX and the Women\u2019s Sports Foundation. The exhibition also takes a deep look at how Schulz reshaped how female characters are portrayed in pop culture, creating characters like Lucy, Peppermint Patty, Marcie, and Sally, who are confident, intelligent and athletic.<\/p>\n

Guests can find a variety of items at the on-site gift shop, curated by Sarah Andelman, which has a huge collection of \u201cPeanuts\u201d merchandise, including toys, clothing, home goods, candy and more. Brands available in the shop include Aurora, Chinatown Market, C.O. Bigelow, Courting Tennis, Hotel Olympia, Inciardi Prints, Leblon Delienne, LeSportsac, L\/UNIFORM, Pintrill, Sugarfina, Whatever! Makes You Happy, and more.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Guests will also be able to find three Inciardi Prints vending machines on site and visit Moleskine\u2019s Hot Stamp Cart, where guests can purchase Snoopy in Style Moleskine notebooks to get embossed with a character of their choice.<\/p>\n
