\n\tShortly after teasing if he\u2019d ever return<\/a> to Saturday Night Live<\/a>, Pete Davidson<\/a> reunited with his pals at the \u201cWeekend Update<\/a>\u201d desk.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe SNL<\/a> alum, who was part of the cast from 2014-22, joined Colin Jost<\/a> to discuss the \u201cmoney-losing fiasco\u201d that is their decommissioned Staten Island Ferry they purchased<\/a> in 2022 with plans to turn it into an entertainment venue. Watch it below.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cSo yeah, in case you\u2019re wondering why I had to do a show in Saudi Arabia, we\u2019re losing millions on this ferry,\u201d he joked in the segment, making light of his Riyadh Comedy Festival<\/a> appearance. \u201cI assume that\u2019s what the article says; I can\u2019t spend $5 on a paywall when I got a kid on the way.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tDavidson continued, \u201cI\u2019m just excited to be a dad and give it all the energy and enthusiasm I never had for this show.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tJost quipped, \u201cI will tell you on the other side, I prefer having a kid to the ferry.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tDavidson noted they \u201ceven gave the boat a new name,\u201d adding,\u201dWe thought the Staten Island Ferry<\/a> sounded too depressing, so now it\u2019s called the Titanic II.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tMeanwhile, despite recent reports to the contrary, Jost said their venture is \u201cgoing very well,\u201d mentioning their recent Nike sponsorship for NYC Marathon.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIf Lorne Michaels has taught us anything, it\u2019s that you never, ever give up, even if everyone says the time has come and Tina Fey is ready to take over,\u201d joked Davidson.<\/p>\n

\n\tDavidson also shared his \u201cgreat idea to make this ferry more of a success\u201d following Zohran Mamdani<\/a>\u2018s mayoral election victory.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWe just had an election, and if you don\u2019t mind I have a message for everyone who did not vote for our new mayor: \u2018Hey, Staten Islanders, did you promise to move out of New York if Mamdani won but have too many warrants for New Jersey and not enough guns for Florida? Well, welcome to New Staten Island. It will have everything that makes Staten Island great: the pizza\u2026’\u201d he said, abruptly ending the list. \u201cWe can\u2019t call it the Titanic anymore since the people on this ship will actually love running into ICE.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tDavidson concluded: \u201cMy point is, the ferry, it\u2019s fine. Sometimes, the news just makes things worse than they are. Like how everyone was sure certain people would be exposed and ruined for being on the Epstein list. But look, it\u2019s 2025 and all three of us are still up here.\u201d<\/p>\n
