LAWRENCE COUNTY, N.Y. (WRGB) \u2014 New York State Police say multiple horses on their way to Canada for slaughter have been removed from the driver&#8217;s custody.<\/p>\n<p>Investigators say they received a complaint on Aug. 28 about horses being transported through New York state to Canada for slaughter. State police say the horses were going to be used for human consumption.<\/p>\n<p>They pulled over a horse trailer on Sept. 2 in St. Lawrence County for a traffic violation. During a safety inspection, they determined the horses inside had been tagged for transport to Canada for slaughter.<\/p>\n<p>Robert M.
