NEW YORK \u2014 \u201cSaturday Night Live\u201d standouts and Staten Island natives Pete Davidson and Colin Jost are hosting a one-night only comedy show on the Staten Island Ferry the pair purchased in 2022.<\/p>\n
Videos advertising the Sept.17 show posted on Tuesday show both comics promoting the event sponsored by Snapple. The vessel will be called \u201cThe Snapple Island Ferry\u201d on the night of the event.<\/p>\n
Jost said<\/a> he and Davidson will be joined by special guests, but didn\u2019t reveal any names in the teaser he recorded.<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019re going to have a show and we\u2019re going to introduce different comedians with lines such as \u2018ladies and gentlemen\u2019 please welcome \u2026 person,’\u201d he said.<\/p>\n Jost filmed his promotion in front of a photo of the luxury ocean-liner the RMS Lusitania, which was sunk by the German navy<\/a> while traveling from New York to England in 1915. He expressed confidence his ferry\u2019s comedy night will end on a happier note.<\/p>\n A limited number of tickets for the show will become available on Thursday at 3 p.m. Giveaways will continue through Sept. 8.<\/p>\n \u201cThat\u2019s right, we\u2019re throwing a free comedy show with Snapple on the boat,\u201d Davidson said.<\/a><\/p>\n He added that while the Staten Island Ferry usually takes commuters to work, the decommissioned John F. Kennedy Staten Island Ferry he and Jost spent $280,000<\/a> to buy at an auction won\u2019t be going anywhere.<\/p>\n Jost, who worked as a reporter for the Staten Island Advance, began writing for \u201cSaturday Night Live\u201d in 2005. He remains with the show and co-hosts its Weekend Update segment with Michael Che.<\/p>\n Davidson appeared<\/a> on the long-running comedy sketch program from 2014 to 2022.<\/p>\n
