Marshall went undrafted after a collegiate career at Georgia and signed with the Broncos, finishing with 853 receiving yards and three touchdowns with Denver.

As a rookie, he connected with Cedric Tillman on an 81-yard touchdown against Dallas, allowing him to tie an NFL record for the longest completed pass by a non-quarterback while giving the Broncos their only lead during a December 1992 game in an eventual loss to the Troy Aikman-led Cowboys.

Then, after his years with the Broncos, Marshall spent the final three seasons of his career with the Giants after a trade, collecting 414 receiving yards and a touchdown between 1994-96.

In addition to his role as a receiver, Marshall also returned kicks with Big Blue.

“When he touched the field, you knew he was on the field,” Daniel Dorsey, the current head coach at Marshall’s alma mater, Hephzibah High School in Georgia, told Fox 54. “He made a difference, whether it was offense, defense or special teams.
