The Republican National Committee is issuing a warning to rank-and-file lawmakers up for reelection who are considering shying away from<\/a> President Trump during the campaign: do so at your own peril.<\/p>\n

President Trump \u201cis the biggest turnout machine for mid- to low-propensity voters and we need those voters to get to the polls,\u201d RNC national press secretary\u00a0Natalie Baldassarre told Politico in response to an article about GOP House members who are on the fence about their campaign strategies ahead of the November midterm elections.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf members are choosing to keep an arm\u2019s length from the president, they risk alienating their base [and] they risk 15 to 20 percent of their key Republican voters not turning out because they don\u2019t feel like they\u2019re a good supporter of the president\u2019s policies,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

As the traditional Labor Day start to the campaign season approaches, Trump has organized<\/a> a Republican midterm convention for the first time.<\/p>\n

And the RNC announced last week that it will feature Trump both nights of the convention \u2013 not just once as was previously announced \u2014 including headlining on the same night as potential 2028 presidential candidate Vice President JD Vance.<\/p>\n

\u201cAmericans will hear from rising stars in the Republican Party, Karoline Leavitt, President Trump, and many more,\u201d Baldassarre told The Post.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re putting front and center the contrast between Republicans\u2019 historic achievements and Democrats\u2019 desire to abolish police and prisons, raise costs, and strip away our freedoms.\u201d<\/p>\n

The event is expected to feature 109 speakers over the two nights. <\/p>\n

Republicans who are on the ballot want Trump to unleash a $403 million war chest amassed by the MAGA Inc. super PAC. <\/p>\n

On Saturday, the group made its first major ad buy, committing $10 million to Texas Senate nominee Ken Paxton, who Trump backed over Sen. John Cornyn<\/a> in a bruising GOP primary.<\/p>\n

Trump vowed this week to hit the road for Republicans, singling out Alaska, where Sen. Dan Sullivan trails former Rep. Mary Peltola<\/a> (D-Alaska) by 2 percentage points in the RealClearPolitics average.<\/p>\n
