On Sunday, the New York Yankees<\/a> are playing the final game of their series with the San Diego Padres<\/a>.<\/p>\n

They will have the day off on Monday following a six-game road trip.<\/p>\n

Ahead of the game, a former Yankees star (Nestor Cortes<\/a>) sent out a heartfelt post<\/a> to Instagram.<\/p>\n

Cortes wrote: \u201cPool day with my love. I\u2019m blessed with the person you have become specially when it comes to our little one. We are lucky to have you.\u201d<\/p>\n

There were over 3,000 likes in less than 24 hours.<\/p>\n

Giancarlo Stanton<\/a> was among the people to like his post.<\/p>\n

Cortes is currently with the Philadelphia Phillies<\/a> after signing with the team as a free agent last month.<\/p>\n

The Phillies wrote (via X) on August 19:<\/a> \u201cThe Phillies have signed LHP Nestor Cortes to a major league contract and have optioned him to single-A Clearwater. To make room for Cortes on the 40-man roster, RHP Brian Keller was designated for assignment.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cortes was picked in the 36th round of the 2013 MLB<\/a> Draft.<\/p>\n

In addition to the Yankees, the 31-year-old has also spent time with the Baltimore Orioles, Seattle Mariners<\/a>, Milwaukee Brewers<\/a> and San Diego Padres over eight years.<\/p>\n

In 2022, Cortes made the All-Star Game as a member of the Yankees.<\/p>\n

The Phillies are the second-place team in the National League East with an 80-63 record in 143 games.<\/p>\n

They are in the middle of a series with the Atlanta Braves<\/a>.<\/p>\n
