More than 1,500 pounds of ready-to-eat pork shipped to New York, New Jersey, and six other states have been recalled at the US Department of Agriculture\u2019s \u201chighest warning\u201d level due to Listeria concerns. <\/p>\n
Two US-based companies \u2014 Prime Line Distributors, Inc. based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and Ferrarini USA, Inc, based in Hoboken \u2014 have recalled 1,513 pounds of imported ready-to-eat pork guanciale that may be \u201cadulterated with\u00a0Listeria monocytogenes,\u201d the USDA\u2019s Food Safety and Inspection Service <\/a>announced on Sunday. <\/p>\n US health officials have issued a Class I recall notice for about 1,500 pounds of imported, pre-packaged pork products due to the possibility of Listeria monocytogenes contamination. USDA<\/p>\n The recall, classified as a \u201cClass I\u201d recall, is the USDA\u2019s highest warning level involving \u201chigh or medium risk.\u201d<\/p>\n The problem was revealed during a routine import reinspection when a product sample tested positive for Listeria monocytogenes.<\/p>\n No one has been sickened due to consuming the pork thus far, the FSIS said in a statement.<\/p>\n Prime Line Distributors Inc. has recalled various weight cardboard cases containing two pieces of individually vacuum-packed \u201cPrime Line Distributors, Inc. Guanciale Pork Jowl Product of Italy\u201d items with a best if used by date of May 16, 2027, and the lot number 263311US.<\/p>\n The recalled meat, from Prime Line Distributors, Inc. and Ferrarini USA, Inc, was shipped to New York, New Jersey, and six other states. USDA<\/p>\n The Sunshine State company also recalled various individually vacuum-sealed packages of \u201cGuanciale Pork Jowl Product of Italy\u201d items with the same lot number and expiration date, bearing an additional \u201cDok Guanciale\u201d label on the packaging.<\/p>\n Ferranin USA, Inc. recalled various weights of cardboard cases containing two pieces of individually vacuum-packed \u201cGuanciale Pork Jowl Product of Italy\u201d and various weights of individually vacuum-packed \u201cFerrarini Guanciale Dry-Cured Pork Jowl\u201d \u2014 both with the same best if used by date of May 16, 2027, and the lot number 263311US.<\/p>\n The slew of possibly contaminated meat bears the establishment number \u201cIT 1937 L CE\u201d inside the Italian mark of inspection or printed on the case label. <\/p>\n Prime Line Distributors, Inc, items were shipped to food service and retail locations in Florida, and Ferrarini USA, Inc., items were shipped to distributors and food service locations in California, Florida, Idaho, Illinois, Michigan, New Jersey, New York and Texas, officials said.<\/p>\n The slew of possibly contaminated meat bears the establishment number \u201cIT 1937 L CE\u201d inside the Italian mark of inspection or printed on the case label.
