A flight attendant aboard a United Airlines<\/a> flight sprang into action when an exhausted mother dozed off and her baby began slipping from her lap \u2014 catching the child before offering to hold the baby so the weary mom could get some much-needed rest.<\/p>\n

Passenger John Frehse shared the touching encounter on Instagram, praising flight attendant Monique Harris for her quick response aboard United flight 3486 from Newark, New Jersey<\/a>, to Grand Rapids, Michigan.<\/p>\n

“United should be very proud,” Frehse wrote, adding that the new mother had fallen asleep when her baby was “about to fall out of her lap.”<\/p>\n

“Monique sprung into action and caught the child,” he wrote. “She then told the mother to go back to sleep – she would give her a break.”<\/p>\n

Frehse also shared a photo appearing to show Harris holding the baby aboard the aircraft.<\/p>\n

“All is not lost in the turbulent time,” he wrote.<\/p>\n

Frehse tagged United CEO Scott Kirby<\/a> in the post and said he has flown more than 2 million miles with the airline.<\/p>\n

“She is an A+ employee,” he wrote. “Take note!!!”<\/p>\n

Harris responded to the praise<\/a> in the comments, saying she was moved by the attention the moment had received.<\/p>\n

“I\u2019m in tears,” she wrote, adding, “I never do anything for recognition.”<\/p>\n

Harris said she “had no idea that being my normal natural self would grow into such a priceless moment,” and thanked Frehse and others for the comments.<\/p>\n

Republic Airways, which operates flights for United and other airlines, praised Harris in an email to Fox News Digital.<\/p>\n

“We agree with all the positive comments I saw on the post: Monique is an extraordinary colleague and flight attendant!” the carrier said.<\/p>\n

The carrier also responded to the initial social media post, saying it was proud to have Harris on its team.<\/p>\n

“Such a great story!” the airline wrote. “We are proud to have Monique on our team.”<\/p>\n
