{"id":341243,"date":"2026-09-09T00:08:31","date_gmt":"2026-09-09T00:08:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/341243\/"},"modified":"2026-09-09T00:08:31","modified_gmt":"2026-09-09T00:08:31","slug":"121m-harper-street-dot-yard-redevelopment-moves-forward-see-photos-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/341243\/","title":{"rendered":"$121M Harper Street DOT Yard Redevelopment Moves Forward: See Photos"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>FLUSHING, NY \u2014 The New York City Department of Design and Construction (DDC) and New York City Department of Transportation (DOT) marked a major milestone in the redevelopment of the DOT maintenance facility in Willets Point, Queens, with a &#8220;topping-out&#8221; ceremony celebrating completion of the project&#8217;s structural frame.<\/p>\n<p>The $121 million Harper Street DOT administration building and yard redevelopment is located at 32-11 Harper Street, adjacent to Flushing Bay. During the ceremony, guests, project team members, and construction workers signed the building&#8217;s final structural beam before it was installed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-subscribe\">\n  <a class=\"article-subscribe-link\" href=\"https:\/\/patch.com\/new-york\/flushing-murray-hill\/subscribe?utm_source=amp&amp;utm_campaign=subscribe&amp;utm_medium=mobile&amp;utm_term=subscribe_in_article\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Subscribe<\/a>\n<\/p>\n<p>The project is being delivered by a design-build team led by Urbahn Architects, with Selldorf Architects serving as design excellence architect and Scalamandre-Tully JV as builder. The joint venture combines Peter Scalamandre and Sons, Inc. and Tully Group, while Arup is serving as owner&#8217;s representative.<\/p>\n<p>The redevelopment will replace obsolete and deteriorated facilities dating to 1934 that no longer meet modern operational, safety, and resiliency standards. The existing 160,000-square-foot Queens Roadway Repair and Maintenance &amp; Fleet Services yard is being comprehensively upgraded.<\/p>\n<p>The project includes construction of a new administration building, wash bay, and security building, along with a range of site improvements.
