STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. \u2014 While it might not be winter yet, the upcoming week will give us a sneak peek at the cold, according to AccuWeather\u2019s weekly forecast<\/a>.<\/p>\n

After a weekend of weather in the 60s, expect things to cool down as soon as Monday. After some showers in the morning, AccuWeather predicts a high of 56 and a low of 35 for the day.<\/p>\n

Tuesday will get even colder, according to AccuWeather, with winds up to 18 mph punctuating a high of 43 degrees that day.<\/p>\n

Wednesday and Thursday will feature temperature swings from the mid-50s to the low 40s. After that, Friday will see temperatures drop a few degrees lower, according to AccuWeather.<\/p>\n

And while Saturday looks to be sunny, temperatures are currently predicted to swing between a high of 49 and a low of 38.<\/p>\n

Things will be slightly warmer on Sunday. Temperatures will hover between 46 and 50 degrees, but AccuWeather predicts that there could be a chance of rain during the day.<\/p>\n

Longer-range forecasts were recently updated, now showing that New York could be in for a wetter than average November<\/a>. <\/p>\n

According to a monthly precipitation outlook issued on Oct. 31, there is a 33% to 40% chance that the entirety of the state north and west of the Hudson Valley will experience a wetter November than usual.<\/p>\n

Those in the Hudson Valley and south, including New York City, are given equal odds of generally recording either above-average or below-average precipitation amounts over the course of the month.<\/p>\n

Typically, Central Park receives 3.58 inches of rain in November, according to National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration data<\/a> from 1991 to 2020.<\/p>\n

Previously, the monthly outlook issued on Oct. 16 indicated that upstate New York had equal chances of receiving either more or less rainfall amounts than usual in November.<\/p>\n

Looking even further out, weather outlooks generally suggest that it will not be an excessively cold winter this year<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Farmers\u2019 Almanac<\/a> (not to be confused with the Old Farmer\u2019s Almanac) issued a winter forecast<\/a> back in August.<\/p>\n

That outlook suggests many parts of the U.S. are in store for some cold bursts over the course of the coming winter. The first of those cold snaps is forecast to hit in December and could result in a chilly holiday season.<\/p>\n

Moreover, the almanac\u2019s outlook said the coldest conditions will impact the Northern Plains through New England.<\/p>\n

In early October, however, AccuWeather released its own winter outlook<\/a> for the approaching season.<\/p>\n

The outlook revealed that New York City temperatures are expected to generally run one or two degrees above average from December through February.<\/p>\n

Unlike the Farmers\u2019 Almanac, the Old Farmer\u2019s Almanac generally called for milder and drier conditions<\/a> in New York.<\/p>\n
