Perciful, 45, of Watertown, according to state police.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Perciful was pronounced dead at the scene as a result of the crash, state police said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">State police said Perciful was living in a hotel in West Carthage.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The crash happened near Conroy Drive on State Route 126 around 4:30 a.m. Tuesday, according to state police. The highway was closed until 9 a.m.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">State police said the driver of the SUV was 53-year-old Jeramie Palladino, of Carthage. Palladino was driving toward West Carthage when the pedestrian was hit, troopers said. The pedestrian was in the roadway wearing dark clothing, according to troopers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">A medical helicopter was called to the scene but left without a patient.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">West Carthage Fire Department, Carthage Area Rescue Squad and New York State troopers responded to the scene.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The investigation remains ongoing, state police said.<\/p>\n<p>Copyright 2026 WWNY.
