Marius Borg H\u00f8iby<\/a>, the son of Norway\u2019s new Queen, was temporarily released from his house arrest sentence to attend the funeral of his step-grandfather. <\/p>\n Norway\u2019s King Harald was laid to rest during a state funeral on Wednesday (September 9) at Oslo Cathedral.<\/p>\n For those who don\u2019t know, Marius is the 29-year-old son of Queen Mette-Marit, who is married to King Haakon. She gave birth to Marius during a previous relationship before meeting the now-King. <\/p>\n Why is Marius Borg H\u00f8iby on house arrest?<\/p>\n Marius was found guilty of two counts of rape back in June 2026 and was sentenced to four years in prison. He was transferred to house arrest a month later while he appeals his sentence. <\/p>\n It was announced earlier this week that Marius\u2019 house arrest has been extended until October 7.<\/p>\n The alleged incidents occurred at the new King\u2019s estate at Skaugum in 2018, and with a woman in Oslo in 2024.
