{"id":342523,"date":"2026-09-10T04:02:17","date_gmt":"2026-09-10T04:02:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/342523\/"},"modified":"2026-09-10T04:02:17","modified_gmt":"2026-09-10T04:02:17","slug":"homeless-man-killed-in-hells-kitchen","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/342523\/","title":{"rendered":"Homeless man killed in Hell&#8217;s Kitchen"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A homeless man was killed and a woman wounded during a violent double stabbing in Manhattan\u2019s Hell\u2019s Kitchen Wednesday, cops said.<\/p>\n<p>John Carlos Mesa, 26, and the 35-year-old woman were attacked inside a W. 47th St. apartment building near 9th Ave. around 2:45 p.m., police said.<\/p>\n<p>A motive for the attack was not immediately disclosed.<\/p>\n<p>Mesa was stabbed in the torso, and the woman was stabbed in her back and neck.<\/p>\n<p>Medics rushed both victims to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mountsinai.org\/locations\/morningside\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Mt. Sinai Morningside Hospital<\/a>, where Mesa died. The wounded woman is expected to survive.<\/p>\n<p>Police took a person of interest into custody.
