Hoda Kotb<\/a> and her ex-fiance, Joel Schiffman<\/a>, reunited at her $2.9 million Bronxville, NY, home<\/a> to celebrate a major milestone for their two daughters, Haley and Hope<\/a>: the first day of school.<\/p>\n

The former “Today” show host<\/a>, 62, took to Instagram<\/a> to document the special occasion as Haley, 9, and Hope, 7, headed back to the classroom for fourth and second grade, respectively.<\/p>\n

Before sending the girls off to school, Kotb posed outside her suburban New York<\/a> home alongside Schiffman, 68, and their daughters, with the foursome smiling together for a sweet family photo.<\/p>\n

Another image captured the family of four walking down the street, hand in hand as they marked the start of the new school year.<\/p>\n

The milestone comes nearly two years after Kotb announced in September 2024 that she would be stepping away from “Today,” explaining that she wanted to spend more time with her children.<\/p>\n

And this isn’t the first time Schiffman has joined Kotb and their daughters at her suburban home since the former couple ended their engagement in 2022.<\/p>\n

He previously showed up to her NY home for a heartwarming Father’s Day celebration. <\/p>\n

Kotb, who ended her eight-year relationship with Schiffman in 2022, paid tribute to her former partner in the caption, writing, “Best Father’s Day to the best father.”<\/p>\n

He also previously took a trip to the upstate\u00a0New York<\/a>\u00a0home for a “funday Sunday.”<\/p>\n

The former couple also spent Father’s Day together last year at Kotb’s $2.9 million home, which she purchased in April 2024, shortly before\u00a0she quit the “Today” show<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Although Schiffman and Kotb once lived together in\u00a0New York\u00a0City with their kids, the mother of two made the decision in 2024 to move her children to the suburbs in a bid to give them more “normality,” while it’s thought her former partner remained in Manhattan.<\/p>\n

However, he made sure to take a break from the honking taxis and towering skyscrapers to make a trip to Bronxville, which is a mere 30-minute drive from Manhattan.<\/p>\n

Kotb previously revealed that her move from the city had also been motivated, at least in part, by her daughter Hope’s Type 1 diabetes diagnosis.<\/p>\n

“As anyone with a child who has Type 1 [diabetes], especially a little kid, you’re constantly watching, you’re constantly monitoring, you’re constantly checking, which is what I did all the time when I was [on the ‘Today’ show]. You\u2019re distracted,” she shared on a May 28 appearance on Today.<\/p>\n

“You just get a priority check in your life. I can be here and sweating what\u2019s happening to Hope in the morning and in the night, or I can be there and feel relief that I can see.”<\/p>\n

Kotb first revealed that her younger daughter was struggling with a health issue in March 2023, when she explained that Hope had been hospitalized for an undisclosed condition.<\/p>\n

Less than two years later, Kotb decided to move her family to Bronxville, where she purchased a stunning property just a short walk from her kids’ school.<\/p>\n

Speaking to\u00a0Today.com<\/a>\u00a0ahead of her last day on the show, Kotb opened up about her desire to embrace a new routine with her kids at the four-bedroom, five-bathroom, center-hall Colonial.<\/p>\n

She was excited to have a more “normal” day-to-day regimen after years of early mornings, she explained.<\/p>\n

“I’m just going to let us be a family with a normal rhythm of life. See what we become,” the on-air celebrity, who was\u00a0replaced by\u00a0Craig Melvin<\/a>, said.<\/p>\n

“I’m going to let [my daughters] take more trips and stay up a little later because part of the reason I put them to bed at that hour is because I’ve got to go to bed. I’m like, ‘Goodnight! Everyone’s going to bed.’ They’re like, ‘It’s 6:30!’ I’m like, ‘Yeah, lights out!'”<\/p>\n

Kotb said in August that she had a vision when it came to finding the perfect family home, revealing in an episode of \u201cToday\u201d that she wanted to create a \u201cwarm and cozy\u201d environment where her children could relax and find sanctuary.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s all new,\u201d she said of her move. \u201cNew kids, new school, new things, new everything. And it\u2019s funny because all I could think of was that I wanted my house for the kids to feel warm and cozy and a place where they want to hang. And that\u2019s it.\u201d<\/p>\n

She previously gave fans a rare glimpse at the cozy workout center inside her upstate\u00a0New York\u00a0home during a sweet video with her daughter.<\/p>\n

Kotb briefly returned to the “Today” show to fill in for\u00a0Savannah Guthrie\u00a0who took a leave of absence after her mother,\u00a0Nancy Guthrie, was abducted from her\u00a0Arizona<\/a>\u00a0home.<\/p>\n
