Zimmer, 85, of Syracuse.<\/p>\n<p>Troopers responded to a report of the crash at the intersection of Oswego Road and Liverpool Bypass Road on Sept. 3 around 1:25 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>A preliminary investigation determined a 2015 Lexus driving by Zmmer was traveling south on Oswego Road and tried to turn onto Liverpool Bypass Road.<\/p>\n<p>However, Zimmer turned in front of a 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe, resulting in a collision, the police said. The investigation determined that Zimmer failed to yield the right of way for the Hyundai.<\/p>\n<p>Zimmer and his passenger, an 84-year-old woman of Syracuse, were transported by ambulance to Upstate University Hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the Hyundai, a 21-year-old from Syracuse, was also taken to Upstate Hospital with serious injuries.<\/p>\n<p>The police said they were notified that Zimmer died at the hospital on Sept. 9.
