{"id":343563,"date":"2026-09-11T03:50:08","date_gmt":"2026-09-11T03:50:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/343563\/"},"modified":"2026-09-11T03:50:08","modified_gmt":"2026-09-11T03:50:08","slug":"former-firefighter-reflects-on-experience-in-new-york-city-during-9-11-aftermath","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/343563\/","title":{"rendered":"Former firefighter reflects on experience in New York City during 9\/11 aftermath"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Former firefighter reflects on experience in New York City during 9\/11 aftermath<\/p>\n<p>WARREN COUNTY, Ohio \u2014<\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"0\">Warren County is marking the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks with a display of artifacts and a memorial ceremony to honor the lives lost and the heroes who emerged.  <\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"1\">Tim Klenk, a former Turtlecreek Township firefighter, shared his experiences delivering equipment and donations to New York City just days after the attacks.  <\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"2\">&#8220;I ended up spending several days helping out, distributing equipment, supplies, and masks to people working downtown,&#8221; Klenk said.  <\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"3\">He returned to New York for several years, reuniting with first responders he worked with and bringing back mementos.  <\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"4\">Those artifacts are on display at the Warren County Administrative Building, where they will remain available for viewing throughout September.  <\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"5\">Friday morning, Warren County leaders will hold a memorial ceremony to honor the lives lost and the heroes of September 11, 2001.
