The city’s emergency management office said brief downpours of 1 to 2 inches an hour are possible.

Most of the city should see about 1 to 2 inches of rain in total, but some areas could be hit harder — in particular, eastern Brooklyn and Queens, according to city alerts.

And other areas around the city might see more rain: The National Weather Service said parts of Long Island could see more than 2 inches an hour as well, and northeast New Jersey could see 1.5-2 inches an hour.

The city urged that if you’re in a home that floods often, to know your exits and be ready to move to higher floors when heavy rain begins. Residents who use the Notify NYC app can also select the basement apartment option to get automated phone calls during flooding.

Things should start getting sunnier by Monday, with highs in the upper 70s and lows in the mid-50s.
