A 41-year-old man was charged with murder Saturday<\/a> in the slaying of a Washington Heights mom who was beaten to death in front of her 7-year-old daughter, police said.<\/p>\n

Photos obtained by The Post show Tiliek Shamel Thompson, 41, flanked by detectives as he was escorted out of the 33rd Precinct station house<\/a> after being charged in the death of 27-year-old Lovay Williams.<\/p>\n

Thompson surrendered at the 33rd Precinct earlier Saturday, according to his attorney, Neville Dexter.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s at the precinct right now,\u201d Dexter said before the arrest was announced.<\/p>\n

Cops found Williams dead shortly after 1:30 p.m. Sept. 6 while conducting a wellness check at her 535 W. 156th St. apartment near Amsterdam Avenue, police said.<\/p>\n

Williams had suffered injuries to her face and neck and was unresponsive when cops arrived, police said. EMS pronounced her dead at the apartment.<\/p>\n

Her 7-year-old daughter was inside the apartment at the time.<\/p>\n

Thompson had initially been identified by cops as a person of interest in the killing.<\/p>\n

Dexter said someone had been implicating his client on social media before Thompson surrendered.<\/p>\n

\u201cEverybody should reserve judgement,\u201d the lawyer said. \u201cWe don\u2019t know what happened.\u201d<\/p>\n

Williams\u2019 brother, Nuquan Williams, told The Post before Thompson\u2019s arrest that whoever killed his sister should be held accountable.<\/p>\n

\u201cMan up to the things you did!\u201d he said. \u201cIt was horrific. You don\u2019t deserve to walk the streets and enjoy life when you took a life.\u201d<\/p>\n

Asia Walker, who described herself as Williams\u2019 \u201cGod sister,\u201d said Thompson and Williams had been together \u201cfor a while.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s confusing to me because we knew this man for too long,\u201d Walker said. \u201cI don\u2019t even know what caused this. I can\u2019t remember her saying they even argued before.\u201d<\/p>\n

Walker had said Thompson turning himself in would bring some relief to Williams\u2019 family.<\/p>\n

\u201cHonestly, I know we ain\u2019t gotta worry about him hurting nobody else and my niece can be at ease,\u201d she said. \u201cTomorrow will be a little better for me. I could sleep at night.\u201d<\/p>\n
