Angela Kelly, the 68-year-old former dresser and close confidante of Queen Elizabeth, has agreed to take part in a filmed account of her life within the Royal Household, where she held a degree of influence matched by few others, insiders have claimed.<\/p>\n

The project is understood to be a “scripted documentary” that will blend on-camera interviews, archival material and possibly dramatic reconstruction.<\/p>\n

It is being overseen by 53 Degrees Global, a London-based production company that operates under the True Royalty Originals banner and markets itself as “trusted by royalty,” in partnership with Walt Disney.<\/p>\n

Bafta-winning screenwriter Jeremy Brock MBE is said to be involved in the production. Mr Brock is best known for penning Mrs Brown, the film about Queen Victoria’s relationship with her Highland servant, which starred Judi Dench and Billy Connolly.<\/p>\n

“The royals will be worried, and they are right to be worried,” an insider told The Mail on Sunday.<\/p>\n

Ms Kelly’s bond with the late monarch was intimate. Elizabeth II is said to have described the pair as being like “sisters,” and the Liverpudlian was entrusted with duties that went far beyond selecting outfits; she would break in the Queen’s new shoes by wearing them herself, style her hair and rub her feet.<\/p>\n

In the final months of the Queen’s life, Ms Kelly relocated to a room on the same floor as the monarch’s private quarters at Windsor Castle. She later told friends she had effectively become the Queen’s carer during that period.<\/p>\n

When Elizabeth II died at Balmoral four years ago, Ms Kelly was among the small number of people present, positioned in a chamber adjacent to the bedroom where the monarch passed away.<\/p>\n

She was subsequently made a Commander of the Royal Victorian Order in 2023.<\/p>\n

The prospect of Ms Kelly sharing her account on screen is thought to have raised alarm within royal circles, given her unrivalled access to the late Queen’s unguarded opinions.<\/p>\n

Subjects such as Elizabeth II’s private stance on Brexit, her views on King Charles and her true feelings about the Duchess of Sussex remain topics of intense curiosity.<\/p>\n

“She knows everything you ever wanted to know, including the Queen’s real views on Meghan,” a royal observer told the publication. “I don’t think the Palace has a leg to stand on if she wants to tell her story. If Harry and Meghan can break all the rules, why can’t she?”<\/p>\n

The same source noted that Ms Kelly has frequently expressed a desire to spend time in the United States, where she would be beyond the reach of Palace pressure. “Angela has often spoken about wanting to spend time in the US, and she could do just that. There’s nothing they could do to her there.”<\/p>\n

Ms Kelly is bound by a confidentiality agreement covering her three decades of royal service, which reportedly extends to prohibiting the commercial use of the words “King” and “Palace.”<\/p>\n

However, she may have a legal shield: a letter from one of the Queen’s private secretaries expressly authorised her to publish three books, of which only two have appeared so far.<\/p>\n

She has also taken on an agent, according to the publication, and would likely attract considerable interest from American chat shows.<\/p>\n

Ms Kelly had disagreements with Prince Harry, who, in his memoir Spare, accused her of blocking Meghan’s pre-wedding tiara fitting in 2018.<\/p>\n

She currently resides near Sheffield in a property purchased for her by the King.<\/p>\n

A Disney source said the project would find a receptive American audience: “The market is flooded with royal stories but this one is unique. This is a person with access to the Queen, a woman who never voiced her opinions publicly.”<\/p>\n
