Punk royalty queens Gina Birch (The Raincoats<\/a>), Lora Logic (X-Ray Spex<\/a>) and Hollie Cook (The Slits<\/a>) are set to perform as a supergroup at London\u2019s \u2018God Save the Queens\u2019 festival.<\/p>\n The event \u2013 organised by Up Yours! collective \u2013 is a celebration of 50 years of She-Punk<\/a>, held at Electric Brixton in London.<\/p>\n \u2018God Save the Queens\u2019 is dedicated to the women who paved the way for the genre and their successors of the future, so it only makes sense for some of the biggest names in UK She-Punk to lead the charge.<\/p>\n There will also be a number of special guests at the event, including Vivien Goldman, author of Revenge of the She-Punks, the 2019 history of what punk has meant to feminine artistic liberation over the past decades.<\/p>\n \u2018God Save the Queens\u2019 is not just celebrating the music of She-Punk, but the entire cultural legacy. Attendees will get the chance to see never-before-seen archival material, fashion, artwork and photography.<\/p>\n The event precedes a brand-new exhibition at Camden\u2019s Museum of Youth Culture, which opens in late October and also focuses on the female punk movement.<\/p>\n In a statement on the festival, Goldman said, \u201cThis festival, and the incredible night we are putting together at Electric Brixton, is that book coming to life on stage.
