A New York City tourist is receiving death threats after asking a fellow airline passenger to help lift her heavy luggage<\/a> into an overhead bin on a recent flight to Hawaii. Her request \u2014 and her seatmate\u2019s alleged \u201crude as f*** response\u201d \u2014 is dividing social media.<\/p>\n In a now-viral video<\/a>, the traveler \u2014 a Hawaii resident named Victoria \u2014 lamented to over 100,000 viewers about her troubling encounter.<\/p>\n A request to help load overhead luggage has become a viral TikTok, sparking thousands of comments \u2014 and some death threats. The man boarding next to her refused to help.<\/p>\n \u201cHe flat out said, \u2018No, I\u2019m good. You can get it,\u2019 and I was holding up the whole plane while he just stared,\u201d wrote Victoria in the clip.<\/p>\n The video triggered a deluge of hate from virtual spectators, most of whom found her request to be entitled at worst and clueless at best.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cYou are such a silly r\u2014ed b- \u2013 -h, I really hope you either kill yourself, or someone like me does it to you,\u201d a cyberbully wrote, in part, in response to her original video.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cF- -KING LOSER,\u201d another remarked, prompting a cloudburst of equally harsh labels, such as\u00a0\u00a0\u201clazy b***\u201d and \u201cinsufferable narcissist,\u201d from other tormentors.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cJust because you\u2019re a female doesnt mean you cant be mysoginistic. If a man doesnt want to help he doesnt have to,\u201d a separate (and poorly spelling) critic scolded. \u201cYou dont have to be an entitled child and upload a video trying to victimize yourself just cause you didnt travel lighter. No one has to help you they can choose to. Dont be an entitled female it\u2019s worse than a self centered male.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cYou\u2019re a pathetic excuse for a modern woman,\u201d another spat. \u201cHow can you exist in this world?.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n The TikToker shared screenshots of the harmful messages she\u2019s received. TikTok\/@victoriamahinaashley<\/p>\n Victoria did not immediately respond to The Post\u2019s request for comment.\u00a0<\/p>\n She did, however, use her digital platform to explain that the man\u2019s seemingly gruff demeanor, rather than his refusal to help, is what inspired her to call him out online.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cFor me, the whole mood of the interaction changed,\u201d said Victoria, claiming that after the man rejected her bid for aid, he huffed and puffed in aggravation while she repeatedly tried and failed to place the bulky bag in the overhead bin.\u00a0<\/p>\n Victoria says a line of passengers even began to form behind the man, causing her to become \u201cflustered\u201d and overcome with \u201canxiety\u201d due to her inability to store her belongings.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cI stand on the seat, and I finally get it in there, I get back down and I was like, \u2018I\u2019m so sorry. Thank you,\u2019\u201d the influencer recalled. \u201cHe just pushes past me and goes.\u201d<\/p>\n Despite initially feeling unjustly mistreated by the man on the flight (not pictured), Victoria ultimately apologized for her tone and verbiage following the incident. ARMMY PICCA \u2013 stock.adobe.com<\/p>\n Victoria then issued a public mea culpa for publicly bashing the guy.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cI was not upset because he told me \u2018No.\u2019 I understand that people can say no\u2026I do not feel entitled to anybody\u2019s help or labor,\u201d she insisted.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cThis is not a gender issue,\u201d Victoria continued. \u201cI don\u2019t think men owe women anything, and I don\u2019t think women owe men anything.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n She then praised Hawaii for being a \u201ccommunity based society and culture,\u201d in which folks are more than happy to lend a helping hand \u2014 unlike New York, recently ranked the \u201cleast friendly state<\/a>\u201d in the nation.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cWe live with \u2018Aloha.\u2019 We show each other \u2018Aloha\u2019 and respect. I can\u2019t expect that same Aloha everywhere I go. That was my bad,\u201d Victoria conceded. She then apologized for the tone of her original post.\u00a0<\/p>\n Her accountability was met with grace from supportive commenters.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cAny man who refuses to help a woman is not a man. Thats a child who\u2019s parents failed to teach him how to be decent. Period,\u201d a woman chimed.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cHonestly.
