federal lawsuit<\/a> against officials in the Trump administration and several pro-Israel groups, accusing them of conspiring to suppress his constitutional rights.<\/p>\nIn the latest complaint, Khalil, former Columbia student Mohammad Ibrahim Zubairi and the SIPA Palestine Working Group allege that the university showed \u201cdeliberate indifference towards and failure to respond to instances of severe, persistent, and coordinated harassment\u201d against pro-Palestinian student activists.<\/p>\n
The suit alleges the university\u2019s actions \u201cenabled the coordinated, persistent doxxing\u201d of activists and \u201cdirectly led\u201d to Khalil\u2019s detention by ICE.<\/p>\n
The plaintiffs are seeking damages and other relief, alleging Columbia violated federal civil rights law and breached its obligations to students by failing to protect them from discrimination and harassment.<\/p>\n
Columbia declined to comment on the pending litigation.<\/p>\n

Khalil, a Syrian-born Algerian citizen of Palestinian descent, is also involved in ongoing litigation<\/a> over the Trump administration’s efforts to deport him.
