COURTHOUSE,
\n Sept 14 \u2013\u00a0 Charged with
\n killing Clarence Adams on East
\n 179th Street between Arthur
\n Avenues on August 2, 2020 a
\n defendant is now waiting to
\n find out if DOJ will seek the
\n death penalty.\u00a0 <\/p>\n

On January 9 the
\n US Attorney’s Office wrote to
\n U.S. District Court for the
\n Southern District of New York
\n Judge Lewis J. Liman seeking a
\n 60 day delay in the conference
\n set for January 13 as it is
\n “still awaiting a final
\n decision from the Capital Case
\n Section as to whether the case
\n will be a capital
\n one.”\u00a0\u00a0 <\/p>\n

On March 12 the
\n AUSA wrote in: “Direction from
\n Attorney General Not To Seek
\n the Death Penalty for Jeffrey
\n German Murder. Document filed
\n by USA.”<\/p>\n

On July 13 as to
\n co-defendant MacCow, defense
\n counsel asked to extend the
\n motion schedule “to allow for
\n the continuation of plea
\n negotiations.”<\/p>\n

On July 27
\n another co-defendant pleaded
\n guilty: “Mario Medina sworn,
\n withdraws previous plea of Not
\n Guilty and enters a plea of
\n Guilty to Count 2 and lesser
\n included offense in Count 4 of
\n the (S1) Superseding
\n Indictment.”<\/p>\n

On August 3,
\n another guilty plea in the
\n case was set: “NOTICE OF
\n HEARING as to Francis Ofori: A
\n Change of Plea Hearing is
\n scheduled for September 14,
\n 2026 at 10:00AM before Judge
\n Lewis J. Liman.”<\/p>\n

And it was
\n consummated: Change of Plea
\n Hearing as to Francis Ofori
\n held on 9\/14\/2026. Defendant
\n (6), Francis Ofori (in
\n custody) present, Court
\n Exhibit #1 – Executed Plea
\n Agreement. Defendant to remain
\n in custody pending sentencing.
\n PSI ordered, presentence
\n interview must be held with
\n defense counsel present.
\n Sentencing set for January 25,
\n 2027 at 11:00AM”<\/p>\n
