The long wait is over, pastrami lovers! <\/p>\n
Carnegie Deli\u2019s juicy, pastrami-packed sandwiches are coming back to midtown Manhattan, with the deli opening in the former Stage Deli space.<\/p>\n
The beloved 2,500-square-foot restaurant will open its doors Tuesday on Seventh Avenue, just steps from its original location, after closing in 2016.<\/p>\n
Founded in 1937, the Carnegie Deli announced on social media<\/a> in August that it would be reopening. CEO Sarri Harper, the granddaughter of longtime owner Milton Parker, didn\u2019t plan to reopen the business in the Stage Deli location, The New York Times reported<\/a>; it was a coincidence.<\/p>\n With 110 seats, diners won\u2019t need a reservation to enjoy the traditional menu, which ranges from the iconic pastrami and corned beef sandwiches piled on rye to all-beef hot dogs and cheesecake.<\/p>\n New additions include the Carnegie Deli Colossus \u2014 a giant sandwich piled with pastrami, corned beef, turkey, Swiss cheese, coleslaw and Russian dressing on rye \u2014 as well as the fully loaded Reuben fries, fried deli pickle chips and babka French toast.<\/p>\n But it\u2019s not just the food that\u2019s coming back. The wall of fame \u2014 and the giant pickle hanging from the ceiling \u2014 will also return, featuring photos of celebrities like Adam Sandler, who referenced the deli in his \u201cHanukkah Song\u201d performance on \u201cSaturday Night Live\u201d in 1994.<\/p>\n The deli will choose two people with the best Carnegie Deli memories for an Opening Day VIP experience. Participants can share their stories on the Instagram post<\/a>, and winners will be selected Monday, Sept. 14, at 6 p.m.<\/p>\n Carnegie Deli will be open daily from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t
