Jimmy Kimmel<\/a> promised an \u201call-star, big-time lineup of guests\u201d when he announced his show\u2019s return to Brooklyn later this month<\/a>. Now we know one of them: Howard Stern<\/a>.<\/p>\n Stern revealed on his SiriusXM show Monday that he\u2019ll sit down with Kimmel at the Brooklyn Academy of Music\u2019s Howard Gilman Opera House on Tuesday, September 29.<\/p>\n The appearance will be Stern\u2019s first visit to a late-night talk show in nearly seven years. <\/p>\n \u201cHow can I say no to Jimmy?\u201d Stern said on his show, adding, \u201cI love the guy, and I love [Kimmel\u2019s wife and executive producer] Molly, and, you know, what am I gonna do?\u201d<\/p>\n His last late-night appearance was also with Kimmel, on the October 9, 2019 edition of Jimmy Kimmel Live!<\/a> in Los Angeles.<\/p>\n The legendary radio broadcaster is returning to late night at a moment of transition in his own career. Beginning this week, The Howard Stern Show is scaling back to one new live SiriusXM broadcast weekly on Mondays, with an adapted video version of the show streaming Thursdays on HBO Max.<\/p>\n Stern\u2019s history with the time period stretches back more than four decades, to his frequent appearances with David Letterman<\/a> in the 1980s. As his own star grew, Stern became an event booking for late-night hosts, with his appearances often revealing as much about the person behind the desk as Stern himself. He has a habit of turning the tables on his interviewers, bringing the same probing style he employs on his own show.<\/p>\n Stern and Kimmel are good friends, and Stern revealed Monday that he and wife Beth spent two days with Kimmel this summer at the late-night host\u2019s fishing lodge in Idaho.<\/p>\n Don\u2019t be surprised if Kimmel returns the favor while he\u2019s in New York. When JKL last welcomed Stern in 2019, Kimmel turned up on Stern\u2019s show less than two weeks later.<\/p>\n
