Inside the first-floor apartment, they discovered a 59-year-old woman unconscious and unresponsive. She had suffered head trauma, authorities said.<\/p>\n<p>EMS responded and pronounced the woman dead at the scene. Her identity is still pending proper family notification.\n<\/p>\n<p>An influx of investigators and news of the death left residents rattled, <a href=\"https:\/\/abc7ny.com\/post\/59-year-old-woman-found-dead-bay-ridge-brooklyn-apartment-death-deemed-suspicious-police-say\/19832717\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">according to ABC7<\/a>. A neighbor to the victim told the outlet that she was left stunned.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve never seen something like that,\u201d Maria Serrano said. \u201cThat\u2019s why when I lock the door I put the three locks on the door because you never know.\u201d\n<\/p>\n<p>The office of the Chief Medical Examiner will officially determine the cause of death.
