Kathy Hochul is announcing how millions of New Yorkers will be able to enroll to receive discounts on utility bills.<\/p>\n<p>The governor is holding a news conference regarding the program at 9:45 a.m. Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>This comes just one day after Hochul said some 8.2 million households will start receiving\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/newyork\/news\/ny-energy-rebate-check-how-to-get\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">energy rebate checks<\/a>\u00a0worth up to $200 starting next week.<\/p>\n<p>They will start being mailed out Monday and will continue to be sent through December.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>New Yorkers don&#8217;t need to sign up or apply to receive the rebate. They&#8217;re being automatically sent to residents who filed their 2024 state tax return on time, were full-time residents of the state, had a qualifying household income, and were not claimed as a dependent on someone else&#8217;s tax return.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\n          More from CBS News\n        <\/p>\n<p class=\"content__tags__label\">In:<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"New York Gov.
